Ok. So I just realized that I never did an update from September's mini reunion (that never happened). A few of us went out to lunch the next day at my absolutely favourite Chinese restaurant. And I was thankful that the small group included who it did. They were people who I genuinely liked in high school, and honestly, I still genuinely like them. They are "good folk" as the locals would say.
Speaking of them, I went on my first vacation with someone new! Well...a friend from high school, but I'd never been on vacation with her so it counts.
If anyone reading this knows me, then you know that I have one favourite traveling companion (if I travel with one at all). So, this was new to me. I'm very low maintenance in some areas and very high in others. And my favourite companion and I are a perfect match. We know when each other need quiet time, when we have days that we want jam packed and when we want lazy days. It's almost like a sixth sense. With that said, I was a little nervous about traveling with someone new. I am happy to report that it went surprisingly well! I'm sure we got on each other's nerves off and on. But nothing major. Nobody died...or even threw a hissy-fit. I consider that a great success.
And, the cherry on the top was that I discovered the most beautiful and amazing place on the planet (in my mind, of course). I could live and die there, surrounded by the mist and deep dark forests.
